RS-CAP Deadlines
RS-CAP is charged with performing academic reviews of Research Scientists from Health Sciences, General Campus, and General Campus Organized Research Units (ORU) following relevant departmental/unit review, and will make recommendations to the cognizant dean or the Vice Chancellor for Research. Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) will continue to use its integrated SIO-CAP which includes Research Scientists as committee members.
RS CAP will provide CAP with additional analysis of existing RS cases, satisfying a long-standing desire by Research Scientists and ORU Directors to include elements of peer review.
Final authority for Research Scientist reviews is delegated to the Executive Vice Chancellor as a means to maintain consistency in the review of campus research contributions. This delegation applies to all Health Sciences, General Campus, General Campus ORU, and SIO Research Scientist files reviewed by CAP.
RS-CAP is administered by the Office for Research Affairs during the 2021 - 2022 academic year.
RS-CAP has established the following deadlines for files to be submitted to Academic Personnel Services. Please note that deadlines set by divisions may be earlier to allow for the review of files at the divisional level.
