Abusive Conduct and Anti-Bullying Guidance

The Abusive Conduct and Anti-Bullying Guidance page was created to give general guidance for Department Chairs and Administrators regarding their recourse when faculty visit their offices with reports of abusive conduct and/or bullying. Department Chairs may also request a detailed Abusive Conduct Toolkit for Administrators by writing to Loriann Ayon, Director of Academic Employee & Labor Relations (General Campus and SIO ) at layon@ucsd.edu or Tara Mallis, Director of Employee & Labor Relations (Health Sciences) at tmallis@ucsd.edu.

Department Chair's Toolkit

The Department Chair's Toolkit houses UC and UC San Diego policies, procedures, portal links, and other resources of interest to chairs of academic departments. Documents prepared for this page, to be of use for chairs and administrators, are designated as Chair's Tools.

Leadership Workshops (formerly Department Chair Workshops)

Leadership Workshops are offered quarterly for Department Chairs, Provosts, and Health Sciences Division Chiefs during the academic year. These workshops provide faculty leaders with current information and training on high priority topics for the University including strategic planning, budget strategies, fundraising, faculty recruitment and diversity, and more.
