Shortlist Report

A Shortlist Report used for SOE/FTE searches only  provides a snapshot of a recruitment that verifies whether planned outreach efforts were implemented. It measures the effectiveness of the outreach efforts and shows applicants under further consideration for the position. The Shortlist Report must be submitted before the first interview for the position.

The Shortlist Report includes:

  • Complete outreach efforts and uploaded evidences
  • Complete applicant management
  • Documentation that all applicants were reviewed fairly and equally

Upon approval, departments have permission to move forward with further consideration.

At UC San Diego (UCSD), "good faith efforts" primarily refer to documented, active steps taken by departments to meet federal and institutional commitments regarding outreach the departments and divisions undertake to attract qualified applicants. These good faith efforts can come in the form of outreach of job postings by networking the position to contacts, building relationships with a wide array of experts in the field, multiple interview stages to interview a broader pool of applicants, postdoctoral programs designed for advancement, etc. There is no limit to the amount of good faith efforts divisions can do at both the recruitment and divisional levels. Divisions are required to document these efforts. The pages below describe recruitment outreach, active applicant management, and selection of the first interview pool.
