Welcome! The University of California and UC San Diego are committed to helping academic appointees balance the needs of career and family. Major strides have been made in recent years to increase family accommodations policies, family-friendly programs, and work/life benefits. Check out UC San Diego's family accommodation policies and local and university family-friendly and work/life programs and services.

Probationary Period Tool for Family Accommodations - Professor and Teaching Professor (LSOE) Series
Please visit our new probationary period tool for Assistant level appointees in the Professor and Teaching Professor (LSOE) Series to assess how family accommodations can affect expected promotion timelines. While some aspects of this tool may work for other academic appointees, all appointees with probationary periods are welcome to contact Gabriel Lopez, Director of academic Policy and Family Programs for a case by case assessment at gal037@ucsd.edu.
