Abusive Conduct and Anti-Bullying Guidance

The Abusive Conduct and Anti-Bullying Guidance page was created to give general guidance for Department Chairs and Administrators regarding their recourse when faculty visit their offices with reports of abusive conduct and/or bullying. 

Academic Leader's Toolkit

Documents prepared for this page, to be of use for chairs and administrators, are designated as Chair's Tools.

Systemwide Guidance on Faculty Discipline

The Academic Council reviewed and approved the below systemwide guidelines at its meeting on December 17, 2025. The systemwide guidelines were then presented to the Board of Regents at the January 2026 meeting. The following attached guidelines are now issued and effective immediately (2/12/2026).

  1. Faculty Respondent Disciplinary Sanction Guidelines: After a Formal Investigation of Allegations of Faculty Misconduct Related to Expressive Activities and a Finding that a Policy Violation Has Occurred
  2. Non-Senate Academic Appointee Respondent Corrective Action/Disciplinary Sanction Guidelines: After a Formal Investigation of Allegations of Misconduct Related to Expressive Activities and a Finding that a Policy Violation Has Occurred

 

Leadership Workshops

Leadership Workshops are offered quarterly for Department Chairs, Provosts, and Health Sciences Division Chiefs during the academic year. These workshops provide faculty leaders with current information and training on high priority topics for the University including strategic planning, budget strategies, fundraising, faculty recruitment and diversity, and more.
